Real Wedding | The Comb

A secluded estate in the Northumberland county side with exclusive use is where Amie & Keith chose to say ‘I Do’.

As a wedding photographer I get to see everything that goes on and love building amazing relationships with my couples to really learn about who they are and all about their love story!

A DIY Wedding

Amie Dressed her venue with her own creations!

Most couples tend to spend the last few days leading up to their wedding trying to relax and prepare themselves for the big day.

Amie and her hubby to be Keith had a very different plan!

They spent 3 days leading up to the wedding dressing their venue!

Amie runs a successful wedding decor business called DIY A Wedding. So it was only fitting for her to include all of her lovely items at her own wedding! We loved her navy, blush and rose gold flower wall and her copper pipe pieces really showed off her rose gold theme.

The Bride

Soft and rustic with a shimmer of rose gold

Amies wedding dress really showed of her lovely long and slender figure, with lace detailing and nude undertones it complimented her theme beautifully. We loved that she wore sparkly trainers! So glam but super sensible too!

She had made her own dried flower bouquet as well as the matching bridesmaid ones.

The couple had placed images of all of their guests at the places they were sitting and they really caused a stir! Everyone was laughing and sharing their pictures as most of them were from when that person was much younger or caught doing something embarrassing . It was a lovely personal touch that everyone enjoyed.

The Boys

These lot had me laughing all day!

Keith and his groomsmen had planned to go clay pigeon shooting on the morning of the wedding. I joined them and it was such good fun!

Having an activity planned into the morning really seemed to relax them and it also kept them out of trouble and gave the bridal party a bit of peace and quiet.

I hadn’t met Keith until the day of the wedding as he hadn’t been available for the final preparation meeting. Amie had told me he was a bit unsure of the camera and would probably be a little camera shy.

As it turned out they pretty much forgot I was there for the most part and when I told them my ideas for some fun shots, all of the lads were super on board and had lots of fun with it.

An Animal Lovers Affair

When we had our final meeting I remember Amie said to me that as long as I got loads of pictures of her dog Darwin and of the alpaca she had hired that was all that mattered!

She had a special dog bandana made for Darwin which read ‘I loved her first’ – so unbelievably cute! Darwin hung out with us for most of the day until late afternoon when he was swept off to have some peace and quiet before the evening party started.

For those couples who have dogs they really understand and value the importance of having their furry best friend with them on their wedding day and it was so special to see the magical bond between him and Amie. He wasn’t phased by the alpaca at all!
